Series: Prayers of Salvation

Nunc Dimittis

December 22, 2024 | Mike Stancak

Passage: Luke 2:22-35

An old man nearing death, Simeon discovers the infant Christ with his parents in the Temple.  The sight of this baby is the sight of salvation itself.  In this moment, Simeon's life is fulfilled and he can "depart in peace," leaving behind for us a vision of what it is that truly prepares us for death: trust in God, and the discovery of his salvation in Christ.
