In addition to giving life, the Spirit gives power. What this means is that the Holy Spirit brings the kingdom of Christ close to us. At all times the Spirit is present with His Church, and then at other times he gives a special "filling" that releases believers into new effectiveness and joy. What we can be confident of is that the Spirit is working in His people, and through His people.
