Life Itself

Passage: John 1:1-18

In the teachings of Christ recorded in the Gospel of John, Jesus often associates himself with life.  He is the bread of life.  He is the way, the truth, and the life.  He is a vine from which the branches draw their life, and without him they cannot live.  In the prologue, John reflects on these teachings to show us that Christ's greatest gift to the world is life itself, the Divine life, gifted to those who believe.  By this life, light is entering into a dark world, and the darkness will not overcome it.
