Like the Land and Sea

August 29, 2021 | Mike Stancak

Behind the biblical teachings on marriage and family is an important assumption: that manhood and womanhood matter to God.  In our time in which the definition of gender is in flux, in which labor has become androgenized, in which masculinity and femininity are suspect, we must learn to see again what was obvious to every previous generation.  When we do, we get one step closer to becoming not only persons in Christ, but men and women in Christ.

CALL TO WORSHIP

Exodus 15:1-3

Come Praise And Glorify

by Tim Chester and Bob Kauflin

Come praise and glorify our God

The Father of our Lord

In Christ He has in heav'nly realms

His blessings on us poured

For pure and blameless in His sight

He destined us to be

And now we've been adopted through

His Son eternally

To the praise of Your glory

To the praise of Your mercy and grace

To the praise of Your glory

You are the God who saves

Come praise and glorify our God

Who gives His grace in Christ

In Him our sins are washed away

Redeemed through sacrifice

In Him God has made known to us

The myst'ry of His will

That Christ should be the head of all

His purpose to fulfill

Come praise and glorify our God

For we've believed the Word

And through our faith we have a seal

The Spirit of the Lord

The Spirit guarantees our hope

Until redemption's done

Until we join in endless praise

To God the Three in One

Glorious

by Bryan Torwalt and Katie Torwalt

Hope fills my soul and the love that You've shown

Brings refreshing like the rain

Peace floods my heart I've known nothing apart

Apart from Your goodness God

You are glorious You are holy holy

The heavens shout You are worthy worthy

Your love frees my soul and fear has no hold

For You have broken the chains

Now joy fills my life Your Spirit Your light

I'm undone by the kindness of Christ

You are glorious You are holy holy

The heavens shout that You are worthy You're worthy

My soul cries out that You are holy You're holy

The nations will shout that You are worthy

You're worthy

And at the sound of our praise

The heavens will shake and the earth will move

PRAYER

Good Good Father

by Anthony Brown and Pat Barrett

I've heard a thousand stories

Of what they think You’re like

But I've heard the tender whisper

Of love in the dead of night

You tell me that You’re pleased

And that I'm never alone

You're a Good Good Father

It's who You are It's who You are

It's who You are

And I'm loved by You

It's who I am It's who I am

It's who I am

I've seen many searching

for answers far and wide

But I know we're all searching

for answers that You provide

'Cause You know just what we need

Before we say a word

You are perfect in all of Your ways

You are perfect in all of Your ways

You are perfect in all of Your ways to us

Cornerstone

by William Batchelder Bradbury, Eric Liljero, Reuben Morgan, Edward Mote

My hope is built on nothing less

Than Jesus' blood and righteousness

I dare not trust the sweetest frame

But wholly trust in Jesus' Name

Christ alone cornerstone

Weak made strong in the Saviour's love

Through the storm He is Lord

Lord of all

When darkness seems to hide His face

I rest on His unchanging grace

In every high and stormy gale

My anchor holds within the veil

My anchor holds within the veil

When He shall come with trumpet sound

Oh may I then in Him be found

Dressed in His righteousness alone

Faultless to stand before the throne

COMMUNION

Broken Vessels (Amazing Grace)

Hillsong Worship

All these pieces broken and scattered

In mercy gathered Mended and whole

Empty handed but not for - saken

I've been set free I've been set free

Amazing grace how sweet the sound

That saved a wretch like me

Oh I once was lost but now I am found

Was blind but now I see

Oh I can see You now

Oh I can see the love in Your eyes

Laying Yourself down

Raising up the broken to life

You take our failure You take our weakness

You set Your treasure in jars of clay

So take this heart Lord I'll be Your vessel

The world to see Your life in me

A-mazing grace how sweet the sound

That saved a wretch like me

Oh I once was lost but now I am found

Was blind but now I see

Oh I can see You now

Oh I can see the love in Your eyes

Laying Yourself down

Raising up the broken to life

Doxology

Praise God from whom all blessings flow

Praise Him all Creatures here below

Praise him above ye heavenly host

Praise Father Son and Holy Ghost

Amen
