The Last Enemy

As we continue in our series on the resurrection, we must come to understand how the Bible presents death.  Death is the revoking of life.  This is true of the body of course, but it's also true of God's judgments, in which he revokes order and goodness.  Death is a defilement that prevents us from approaching God.  It is also the way the prophets understand the exile: the death of a nation.  The resurrection of Christ is God's answer to all the works of death because it is the overwhelming release of Divine life and the restoration of the created order.
