Turn, Turn, Turn

The reality of life so often doesn't line up with our expectations.  We spend so much time searching for a silver bullet way to have control over our lives, to find satisfaction, to protect ourselves against surprises.  It could be a job, a relationship, maybe some kind of wisdom, but when we're honest with ourselves we will find that nothing works.  There is no theory of everything.  It becomes easy to despair.

Ecclesiastes is a book exploring these very questions and deals honestly with the pain and confusion of life.  But in the middle of all, in this little book of poetry, glows a surprising message of joy.
