Blessed King

Passage: Psalms 72:1-20

Psalm 72 is spoken as a blessing over the king succeeding to the throne of David.  The most immediate king in mind may be Solomon, but the blessings pronounced by the psalm border on the supernatural.  It is expected that the crowds should cry, "Long live the King," but what if there were a "Son of David" who really would, as the psalm would have it, outlast the moon itself?  These blessings are brought to fulfillment in the Ascension and Return of Christ.
