Messiah's Ear

November 17, 2024 | Mike Stancak

Passage: Psalms 40:1-17

Another psalm of deliverance gives us a glimpse into the mind of Messiah.  The author of Hebrews tells us that here in this psalm we see Christ poetically offering himself to the Lord as a sacrifice.  The words of David meant more than he could have anticipated: the mention of an "open ear" becomes, in light of Christ, a symbol of complete offering and the fulfillment of God's Law in his chosen King.
