Passage: Daniel 9:1-27
We come to one of the most debated passages in all of Scripture. The significance of the seventy weeks have intrigued and confused Bible expositors for a long time, but perhaps the reason is because we are freighting too many assumptions into the text. When seen through the lens of the ministry of Christ, we see that these confusing symbols become a vision of the judgment and deliverance of God, the fulfillment of divine wrath, and the coming of divine jubilee.

Series Information

Christian political thought is a balancing act between competing allegiances. On the one hand, the state is owed our allegiance as an authority anointed by God for a certain purpose. On the other hand, our allegiance to the state is subservient to our allegiance to God. We render to Caesar what is Caesar's, but never from what we owe to God.
