Passage: Matthew 12:38-50
How do we know that we are connected to God? Who does God consider to be part of his family? These questions percolate as Jesus continues to field criticism from the Pharisees. The stubborn skepticism of the Pharisees veils a deep-seated unwillingness to confront their own moral failures. But it’s by discovering our own failure that we as modern day disciples can avoid their mistakes and draw close to the God who made us. Join us this Sunday as we hear the call of Jesus to believe, repent, and follow.

In the next installment in our Matthew series as we see conflict heating up around Jesus. As his ministry continues, it becomes clear that the values of the Kingdom clash with the arrogance, pride, and apathy of his day, and people start to polarize around him. I'm sure the same will be true of us. At every step we'll find that Jesus' grace is sufficient for the journey, as we learn the way of the Upside-Down Kingdom.
