The Right Side of History

Paul begins his second letter to the Thessalonians as he did his first: in thanks.  God is at work in and through the Thessalonians, even in the midst of their sufferings.  The sufferings of the Church seem chaotic in the moment, as though nothing is going according to how God said things should go.  But in the end, these circumstances will be used to vindicate God's people and condemn those who opposed him, so that history itself will demonstrate that God is just in all his judgments.
