Witness or Exploiter?

Series: To The Exiles

Witness or Exploiter?

June 08, 2025 | Mike Stancak

Passage: 2 Peter 1:16-2:3

Peter at this point reminds the Church of the reason we believe the apostles: they were in the room where it happened.  The Scriptures they wrote are an authoritative testimony to the revelation of that same Christ who was transfigured on the mountain.  This testimony is guarded by the Holy Spirit who "carried along" those who wrote, from the apostles going back to the prophets.  Competing for our faith are the exploitative false teachers who appear throughout the history of the Church to carry her away from the faith once delivered to the saints.
