Aging

Passage: 2 Timothy 4:6-8
Aging is the culmination of our lives. It’s something that all of us are doing, but few of us spend much time talking about. For most of us, the reason we don’t talk about aging is because we are afraid of aging. But what if in the Gospel we had fresh resources so that we can age with intentionality and hope? What if God had given us each other as support as the years go by? Join us this Sunday as we continue our Gospel in Life series and see the ways in which Gospel shapes the way we age.
Discussion Questions:
- Do you spend time thinking about aging and death? What use is there to thinking about those things?
- What do you feel when you consider where you are in the process of aging? Are there things you are afraid of, hopeful for? What do you desire most as you consider the remainder of your life?
- How does the Gospel help us age with hope? What does it mean that Jesus is the victor over sin and death?
- The Gospel restores us to our purpose of loving God and others, and helps us receive love from God and others. How does this help us as we age?
- How can we as a group truly know and truly love each other, so that all of us feel that we are walking through the remaining years of our lives with people who love us and will point us to God?
Series Information

So often we spend our lives believing the content of the Gospel, but how does it really change the way we work, the way we consume media, the way we prioritize our weekly activities, the way we engage with friendships, or even the way we prepare to age and die? We believe that the Gospel absolutely speaks to all those things. We will be taking topics one by one and demonstrating the real, down-to-earth, practical ways the Gospel shapes our lives.
