Eidolatria (Idolatry)

June 16, 2024 | Mike Stancak

Passage: Psalms 115:1-18

This week we begin to explore the problem of what went wrong in the world.  From the biblical perspective, what went wrong began when right worship was redirected from God to created things.  Idolatry is that movement of trust from God to created objects which are not truly in control of our lives, and God sees it as spiritual adultery and treason.  Idolatry puts us in the power of other spiritual powers, and Christ alone can break their hold and free us for the Kingdom of Heaven.
