Taking Part by Confession

Series: Taking Part: A Series on Prayer

Taking Part by Confession

June 14, 2020 | Mike Stancak

Passage: Luke 18:9-14

One of the deepest desires of the human heart is also one of its greatest fears: to be truly and exhaustively known.  We want to be disclosed, but to disclose ourselves is to disclose our sin.  Our desire to be known is mixed with the knowledge that something in us must be purified.  In the Lord, we have someone who knows us as we desire to be known, and can gives us the cleansing we need.  Confession is how we live before him with nothing hidden, courageous enough to disclose our darkness because in Christ we have been transferred into the light.
