The Life of Prayer: Part 1

July 19, 2020 | Mike Stancak

Passage: Psalms 66:16-20

We've spent the past few weeks exploring different kinds of prayer.  Now we transition into discussing how these different sorts of prayers start to make up a life of prayer.  This week, we look at the testimony across Scripture that spiritual disciplines like prayer do not, necessarily, add up to a spiritual life.  Throughout the Scriptures we see the exasperation of our Father over his people's compartmentalization of prayer from the rest of their lives.  God made us to take part in his life.  We cannot do that through prayer if we don't intend to do it with our work, the marketplace, our families, friends, neighbors, leisure time, etc.  This week we will see the critically important relationship between discipleship and prayer.
