Series: Exodus: The God Who Is
The God Who Remains
November 29, 2020 | Mike Stancak
Passage: Exodus 33:12-18
The question that often occurs in our reading of the Scriptures is "Why does God stick it out?" Israel falls so often, as do we, that it's a wonder God remains. But in this week's passage we find that God's reason is simple: it's who he is. He is the God who is gracious, faithful, steadfast, forgiving. He will be just, but he is compassionate as well. This God who keeps covenant to Israel is the same who shed his blood for us on Calvary.

The Prophecy Candle - Isaiah 2:2-5
Michael & Bonnie Sprague, Giselle Travis
Hark the Herald Angels Sing
Verse 1
Hark the herald angels sing
Glory to the newborn King!
Peace on earth and mercy mild
God and sinners reconciled
Joyful, all ye nations rise
Join the triumph of the skies
With the angelic host proclaim:
Christ is born in Bethlehem
Verse 2
Hark! The herald angels sing
Glory to the newborn King!
Christ by highest heav'n adored
Christ the everlasting Lord!
Late in time behold Him come
Offspring of a Virgin's womb
Veiled in flesh the Godhead see
Hail the incarnate Deity
Pleased as man with man to dwell
Jesus, our Emmanuel
Hark! The herald angels sing
Glory to the newborn King!
Verse 3
Hail the heav'n-born Prince of Peace!
Hail the Son of Righteousness!
Light and life to all He brings
Ris'n with healing in His wings
Mild He lays His glory by
Born that man no more may die
Born to raise the sons of earth
Born to give them second birth
Hark! The herald angels sing
Glory to the newborn King!
O Come O Come, Emmanuel
Verse 1
O come, O come, Emmanuel,
And ransom captive Israel,
That mourns in lonely exile here,
Until the Son of God appear.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.
Verse 2
O come, O come, Thou Lord of might,
Who to Thy tribes, on Sinai's height,
In ancient times didst give the law
In cloud and majesty and awe.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.
Verse 3
O come, Thou Dayspring, from on high,
And cheer us by Thy drawing nigh;
Disperse the gloomy clouds of night,
And death's dark shadows put to flight.
Verse 4
O come, Thou Rod of Jesse, free
Thine own from Satan's tyranny;
From depths of hell Thy people save,
And give them victory o'er the grave.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.
Shall come to thee, O Israel.

Lamb of God
By David LaChance Jr., Jason Hansen, and Bob Kauflin
Verse 1
O Lamb of God, all worlds obeyed Your will
From dark and void their being came
O Lamb of God, Your glories echo still
Creation sings its Maker's praise
Eternal God, One with the Father
Before all time You dwelt in love
Eternal God, unlike all others
Yet You descended unto us
Verse 2
O Lamb of God, in filthy manger lay
In humble dress You entered earth
O Lamb of God, Creator bows to save
The needy ones, helpless from birth
Incarnate Word, gift of the Father
To take our place and bear our sin
Incarnate Word led to the slaughter
You conquered death and rose again
Verse 3
O Lamb of God now reigning on the throne
The Judge of all, faithful and true
O Lamb of God, You'll make Your power known
When all Your foes receive their due
Victorious King, when history's fading
You'll call Your Bride to take her place
Victorious King, Creation's waiting
For Your redeemed to see Your face
For Your redeemed to see Your face
LORD’S SUPPER
Rejoice
Dustin Kensrue and Stuart Townend
Verse 1
Come and stand before your Maker
Full of wonder, full of fear
Come behold His power and glory
Yet with confidence draw near
For the one who holds the heavens
And commands the stars above
Is the God who bends to bless us
With an unrelenting love
Chorus 1
Rejoice, come and lift your hands and
Raise your voice, He is worthy of our praise
Rejoice, sing of mercies of your King
And with trembling, rejoice
Verse 2
We are children of the promise
The beloved of the Lord
Won with everlasting kindness
Bought with sacrificial blood
Bringing reconciliation
To a world that longs to know
The affections of a Father
Who will never let them go
Verse 3
All our sickness, all our sorrows
Jesus carried up the hill
He has walked this path before us
He is walking with us still
Turning tragedy to triumph
Turning agony to praise
There is blessing in the battle
So take heart and stand amazed
Chorus 2
Rejoice, when you cry to Him He hears
Your voice, He will wipe away your tears
Rejoice, in the midst of suffering
He will help you sing
Rejoice, come and lift your hands and
Raise your voice, He is worthy of our praise
Rejoice, sing of mercies of your King
And with trembling rejoice
My One Comfort
Dustin Kensrue
Verse 1
My one comfort both in life and death
Is that I am not my own
I was bought with blood and I confess
I belong to you alone
Chorus
By the Father's good decree
Jesus, you've delivered me
By your Spirit set me free
To follow you
Bridge
Jesus, you have taken hold of me
And in your grip of grace I'm finally free
