The Last Plagues

At last, the wrath of God that has been expanded over the book of Revelation reaches its final stage.  The wrath falls on the beast and those who worshipped it, and it is wrath that sets out to vindicate the saints who have faced harm and accusation over the course of the persecution.  At the climax, the nations of the earth are arrayed against God by the deception of Satan, but only to face their judgment as one group.  It is a chapter full of destruction, but also assurance, because God will be just and he will set things right, and the arrangement under which our brothers and sisters suffer will not last.
