Passage: The Revelation to John Revelation 6:1-17

For one kingdom to unseat another always means upheaval.  This is no less true for the Kingdom of Heaven in Revelation 6, as the Lamb begins to open the seals to the scroll. The judgments predicted align with the events of the fall of Jerusalem in AD 70, the historical sign that one system of relating to God had given way to the new. The judgment of AD 70 may be long gone, but it is still the foretaste of the great and final upheaval when all kingdoms give way to the kingdom of the Lamb.
