The Fall of Babylon

September 20, 2026 | Michael Uyeda

Passage: The Revelation to John Revelation 18:1-21

As John has previously given us glimpses of Babylon's impending doom in earlier chapters, he now describes the fall of Babylon in vivid detail. The angel brings God’s charge against the city for her rebellion and God’s holy response will bring a sudden collapse to the economic and cultural idols that the city has become enamored with. Though Satan has been successful in using Babylon to seduce many, God calls His people to come out of her, in repentance. Babylon's destruction is certain but our just and mighty God will vindicate his people and they will rejoice in His perfect justice.
