Passage: The Revelation to John Revelation 5:1-14

The activity in the heavenly throne room stalls on the question of who can break the seals of a mysterious scroll.  The scroll contains the secret of history: what has all this chaos really been about, and who can bring history to a good ending?  Only one proves to be worthy, and it is the one who conquered by his own sacrificial death.  The secret of history is Christ crucified and risen to glory, and it is he who is now breaking open the final chapter of the human story.
