The Glory of the Bridal City

John is taken along to witness the glory of the New Jerusalem, and we learn that the glory is none other than the glory of God.  The Church is not glorious by its own merit or nature, but by the fact that she shows forth the nature of God's self-gift.  In her is the presence of Christ by his Spirit.  In her is the glory of the nations who come to her and are completed in her by the Gospel.  It is this glory that is disclosed now through the witness of the Church, and it is this glory that will one day be displayed in full as the Church is presented to Christ the Bridegroom.
